Help with anyone who went through rhinoplasty?? Can you tell me how it went? I am considering it but am scared

I am debating on whether or not to go through with rhinoplasty. I had a consultation with Dr. Mark Erlich from NYC about it, but considering the risks, I am not too sure I can handle it. For any of you who had it done or knows someone who did, how was the end result and recovery? Was there enduring pain past the recovery period?

I’m 13 days post-op and no it hasn’t been horrible. It hasn’t been easy either. There really isn’t a whole lot of pain but it is very uncomfortable. I had my operation under general anesthesia so that part was fine. It’s the not being able to breathe through you nose for a few days that really sucks. So far I really like my new nose but healing is a long and slow process. It can take up to a year to see the final result. The most important thing is to find a good surgeon that specializes in rhinoplasty or facial surgery. Operating on the nose is completely different than operating on the body. It’s very important to go to a specialist. If you want more specific info, I recommend going to http://www.makemeheal.com and go to the rhinoplasty message boards. That’s where people post their personal stories and experiences. It gives you a very realistic view of what rhinoplasty surgery is really like and is very informative. Good luck with whatever you decided. :)
