Youngest age to have plastic surgery on nose?

by admin on September 3, 2010

What is the youngest age I can have plastic surgery on my nose. I’m a 12 year old girl. I broke my nose badly 3 years ago, and had surgery on it, but the surgeon said I need plastic surgery on it. I can hardly breathe through my nose and the bump on my nose is in the wrong place. What is the recommended age to get plastic surgery on my nose?

I read about a girl who was 13 when she broke her nose. She didn’t end up getting it fixed for 2 years or something. When she did she said she felt much more confident, and also looked better. As long as your parents say yes, and its not just because you want to "look" better, I’d say your plenty old enough.
Good luck!

Get a check up with your local plastic surgeon and ask him for some advice.

Getting it fixed, you can have done at any age but to have the actual form changed with plastic surgery it’s 18.

They don’t want people making drastic changes as a minor so they make you wait until you’re 18. (like a tattoo)

it doesn’t really matter as long as it’s okay with your parents. But by law if you wanna do it without your parents then it’s 18. this is really weird- i had a friend who broke her nose like a year ago and had a semi-crooked nose. So, she got plastic surgery on it (of course with parents consult) and looks better, although she could only get it done with her parents permission if she researched on it.

Bottom line: It is okay to have plastic surgery at any age. HOWEVER, there will be some risk factors to think about, like it not ending up the way you want to and everything.

I feel that after a proper ENT examination by an ENT surgeon,if the nasal septum is found to be deformed to the extent that it is causing breathing problems through the nose then septoplasty with the aim of relieving obstruction can be undertaken, the need for a corrective rhinoplasty for the external nose is the domain of the plastic surgeon and he is the better person to decide about that whether this is the correct age to do a rhinoplasty or not.
